A VARIETY OF OPPORTUNITIES!
There are many opportunities for ministry in congregational care and outreach!
Here are just a few:Card Ministry - Volunteers send cards to our members, extending our sympathy in times of loss, celebrating a joyful event in someone’s life, wishing a happy birthday to a member, and just letting members know that we are thinking and caring about them in times of trauma and crisis.Flowers - Bouquets that are used in our worship services are then broken down into small arrangements to be delivered to our shut-ins and also to people in the hospital or in care at different facilities.Care and Concern - We reach out to others through visitation of the sick, those recovering at home, and those who are hospitalized.New Members - We deliver new member packets to those who have recently joined our church, providing a wide variety of information about our church, worship services, Christian Education, Youth groups and activities, etc. We also write brief biographies of all new members to be published in our monthly newsletter.Singles - A monthly dinner at a local restaurant is coordinated for singles of all ages to get together and enjoy each other’s company.Stephen Ministers - Trained laypeople who are available to assist people going through difficult times.Adopt a Homebound Person - Every one of our shut-ins has a group that looks after them on a regular basis. This could be an Adult Sunday School Class, a Women’s Circle, our Men’s Prayer Breakfast group, or an individual who may be able to visit someone who has moved out of town.Traveling Communion - This is an extension to a Sunday worship service that has included the celebratration of the Sacrament of Communion. Our elders deliver communion and worship with members who cannot get to church.Family Night Suppers - These monthly family pot luck suppers, followed by an activity, are arranged by this committee.
We are dedicated to caring for our members, wherever they find themselves in their lives. We provide access to help where needed. We encourage a feeling of belonging to a family of Christians who care about and reach out to each other, trying to be God’s gentle hands in this world.
